At what age can I collect a swab sample from my animal?

DNA used for genetic screening does not change as you get older so you can collect a sample at any age. Puppies or kittens that are weaning need to be separated from their mum for at least 10 minutes. Trying to swab a 2 week old offspring can be a challenge and epithelial cells may be at low quantities.
